On my way outta my building after a long days work, 7:45pm and I'm the last guy on my floors to leave, we have a little express elevator on my level just for the lower 3 levels, everyone else sorta gets stuck in the 28 to 1 level elevators, sucks to be them. I know cause I use to be on level 6.

Had crazy mad thunderstorms tonight, I was even scared walking outside in the rain cause there was so muh lightning about, I am sure I probably make a good meat lightning rod.

Out to lunch with mum, last day she is here, I will miss her when she goes back, it has been nice to talk to her.

Astro comes home soon, yay!

This photo looked better when I took it tonight, coming home after dropping mum off, taxi driver behind the one pictured started going nuts out his window when the light turned green and he went through the intersection, taxi drivers are weird weird creatures.

Having lunch with my mum in Hyde Park, it has been great to sit down and really talk to my mum, with your parents that is not always an easy thing to do, particually when you hardly see her and live 1000kms away! We have been through a lot together, particually in those last years in Paste, I am glad we survived it all and can still be open with each other. It has taken a lot of work!

Back to work tomorrow, bleeerr.

Out to dinner with my momz, had a really good time just chatting to her and talking about a lot of things, she is a really good mid wifery nurse, she should be teaching that stuff, such experience.

Food tonight was AWESOME! Best deep sea fish I've had in ages.

The ol' intersection with the Deus Ex Machina right in the middle of it.

This is probably the best Dave Grohl interview I've ever read, I don't know if it is just this guys attitude to life now (he does have it pretty sweet) or what, but he is the kinda guy you wanna meet when he is 80 and in a nursing home where you could just get him to unload for days on end about all the stuff he has experienced in his life, I bet you'd never want him to shut up! I always finish reading interviews of him wanting more!

Taken at the vending machine on my floor at work, for some reason there is a milky bar stuck in front of the Crunch bars that I want to purchase, there is only one choice for crunch bars, so if I want one now I have to buy a milky bar and a crunch bar or like, wait for someone to come along and buy the milky bar, brrr

My finals for bball got cancelled tonight, pushed back to next Thursday, totally bummed!

Got Basketball finals tomorrow, hopefully we'll do well! My team only just scraped into the finals, so i am expecting we will get bounced the first week.

Man, I sure can't make myself go to sleep, I'm up late lying in bed listening to Foo Fighters, just makes me want to download a bunch of older alt rock stuff I use to listen to in the 90s, you would be surprised if you looked at my iPod of what is on it, I would say the 90% of the space is taken up with pure 1 to 3 hours dance music mixes, or mixed CDs, maybe 5% extra is taken up with just old single rave tracks that I don't have in mixes, the other 5% would be probably just Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Radiohead and some random Christmas tracks that were put on years ago. And I tell you what, when ever i got this 20 gig 3 or 4ish years ago it was 100% full of dance mixes, I am getting better!

To be honest the ratio of dance music to "other" music is probably the same on my computers, but when we are talking maybe 150+ gig of music I guess that equals a lot of "normal" music in there I guess.

EDIT: btw, it feels really weird to say "old 90s alt rock" in a sentence, but hey, we are staring down the barrel of 1990 being almost 20 years ago now, damn.

Picture taken from the outdoor basketball/tennis court place right near my house, wish i had a better camera at the time cause that big old light in the centre is the moon, it it looked all spooky when ir was rising tonight.

I am so over going to work.

Peak hour on the street near my house. Been raining a lot up here lately.

Sunday, January 20, 2008

Taken at the Sydney FC vs Melbourne Victory game I went to with work guys today, it was my first ever professional soccer game experience and it was pretty good and better than I expected, lots of atmosphere as you can see.

More boring photos, but sums up my bachelor weekend of computering and movie watchin'.

Friday, January 18, 2008

What a week, I feel knackered.

Thursday, January 17, 2008

If you squint really really hard, you can see the mass of bats I saw swirling around Sydney CBD on my way to Basketball. This picture shows about a tenth of what was in the air, it looked like an invasion.

Blurring past the ol' Dendy Cinemas on the way home from dropping astro at the airport. Here is hoping for her to have lots of fun, be safe and return home without a hitch!

Tuesday, January 15, 2008

Ahh, beautiful sunsets, they sure do make taking a picture easy. Wish I had a tripod for these moments so I could have got a clearer picture. Soon, cocksage, soon.

My dad wants me to learn a language, hrm maybe I should this? Although for some reason I really want to learn Russian. Maybe that is my inner KGB spy yearning.

Sunday, January 13, 2008

I hope the clouds clear up again.

Saturday, January 12, 2008

This was outside my block of apartments as we were making our way to hotcakes for breakfast. It sorta look like people had thrown 3 chairs over the balcony from upstairs or something.

A pattern off the wedding invite I got from a friend of mine, I'm going to Brisvegas in under two months baby!

Thursday, January 10, 2008

The "program" for the play I went and saw last night with astro and friend. It was a little number put on by Sydney Uni students, it was pretty good when I look back it for what it was. A tiny cast of 4 in a tiny theatre of about maybe 20 to 30 people, you could literally reach out and touch the actors. Something I thought I'd hate, but ended up really enjoying, I'd go again!

An ibis in the park trying to scam my food, nothing new, however today I noticed that all the ibis's around me had weird colour taggings all over their legs. It was a technicolour rainbow of bird legs.

Tuesday, January 8, 2008

This filing cabinent was just sitting out in the open down this alley way when I went off to 'shoot some hoops'. When I cam back about an hour later it was gone. Freaky!

It is important that when you iron pants, you get right in there and have a wrinkle free CROTCH.

Yes I had nothing to really picture today, but I thought that I should encapsulate the feeling I had while I was ironing my pants for work tomorrow "You are going to be doing this for the rest of your life..."

Which could be true, who knows.....

Sunday, January 6, 2008

Picture of my snack that astro made me before dinner (thanks!), Lettuce, bean sprouts with a dipping sauce of a little carrot, fish sauce lime juice, garlic, chllli and a bit of sugar. Hooray!

Man, gotta face my first full week of work for 2008 starting tomorrow, here we go for another year!

Also day marks the anniversary of moving to Sydney! One full complete year, I tell you what, the weather was almost identical to the day we arrived too, humidity so high you could cut a knife with it!

Saturday, January 5, 2008

A sea of people at Martin Place tonight to watch the Plump DJs and various other DJ's at the Sydney Festival opening night for free, there was a live act called on Chromeo or somesthing, I think they have songs on the radio or something, they weren't to repulsing. To get an idea, this picture was probably about a 1/4 to a 1/3 of the people that were watching the Martin Place stage (there were a few other stages in 3 other places tonight with varying styles of music), if I panned to the left and to the right of this shot, imagine the same amount of people. They all stuck around even while it was drizzling every now and then tonight, one thing I love abour Sydney is the fact that throughout most of the year you can get rained on and not feel cold, love that humidity (or whatever dries me out quickly!)

Friday, January 4, 2008

This appeared outside my work this afternoon, another big prop thing for for the Sydney Festival, which happens to open tomorrow night and I want to go if it isn't pouring down with rain as it is forcast.

Today was another big day, help facilited a 6 hour work shop, I think it went fairly decent. Got to work too early at around 7:20 this morning, with everyone still being on holidays in Sydney makes the traffic light and the public transport an absolute joy!

Thursday, January 3, 2008

Calm before the storm.

Looks like they are gearing up for a huge concert in Martin Place tomorrow night or on the weekend, I think it has something to do with the Sydney Festival which kicks off tomorrow night (I think).

On the work front, first day back was a long 11 hour affair, I've got another long day tomorrow where I am helping facilitate a workshop with some bigwigs in the business, hope I don't do too many stupid things!

Also I got decent news about my job prospects, looks like someone is willing to pay for me, now we just have to get it all sorted out on paper and with the proper people. I'm happy but I am keeping a lid on it until it is all set in stone.

Here is a recent addition to our quickly growing "garden" on our balcony. These are "Alpine Red" Strawberries, I hope all this stuff will grow up here, we don't get a lot of direct sunlight, but spirits have been lifted around here by the fact that the tomatoe tree ended up growing two tomatoes!

Hurrr, back to work tomorrow, I have around a month to land myself a full time position in my company before my grad contract is up, and if i have bad or no news tomorrow on my first day back I have zero prospects that I am a least a little excited about. Cross your fingers for me for good news!

Tuesday, January 1, 2008

Here is a picture as to why you should always remember to apply sunscreen to the tops of your feet when you go to the beach. Usually I am really good with this stuff, but I got distracted/forgot when I went to Palm Beach the other day. Yeah it is pretty red and is about 3 days old now, it hurt a lot the day after it happened.

Welcome to 2008.
