Happy new year, this was our NYE feast we decided to have to bring in the new year, marinated pork spare ribs, a walnut/mango type salad with goats fetta cheese and a cape seed rolls. Quick, easy and tasty, mmmm.

Fireworks in Sydney were nuts, the view from our roof was pretty awesoem.

It is almost like a warning that a Hospital might jump out and "get" you if you are not quiet.

A picture of Palm Beach I took today using the mobile. I got hella sun burnt in weird patches on my legs today, now I am in pain hell. Was a nice day though, full of sunshine, astro, swimming, fish & chips and many stops and detours on the way home, that area would be a nice place to live in for sure.

I think the water in the picture came out a little green, my mobile didn't do justice to how pretty it was today.

I found this 2 Euro as I was unpacking the food shopping from my car in my car parking spot. Who the hell has been throwing Euros at my car while I've been away???

A picture of what astro got me for my birthday, finally got it working today and started transferring my jigs and jigs of crap from my laptop to it. I'll continue tomorrow and then try to cull and organise my data!

In fact, maybe i'll make tomorrow an organisation day, I really need to do that.

Returning back to Sydney from my 5 days in Melbourne. We gotta stop getting these Avalon flights, they are really annoying.

Another busy day with festive season parties and whatnot, so here, have another doggie photo.

A bloody cold, wet and windy day in Melbourne, I did a few things out and about but didn't take any cameras with me as I thought they'd probably get wrecked as I didn't bring any weather proof clothing, i got pretty cold and wet.

So basically you get an indoors shot of astros dog, what a fatty.

You probably can't see it in this picture, but there was hella frosty smoke like air floating around in our flight cabin when we boarding our plane for Avalon tonight, this was the best picture I could get of it without making people really nervous, it would seem doing anything from the norm on a plane makes people think you are a potential terrorist.

At the "B" mans house while he was cooking us delicious japanese dinner and then playing us the new BSG movie, choice bro. I would like a nice TV like this.

My birthday down again for another year, big thanks goes to astro for making it so special. Another shout out to my man from bluesuit, you always remember, thanks so much.

Here is hoping this next year of my life brings more of the good times I've had this year.

Currently reading this for work, "Mobile Web Design" by Cameron Moll. An e-book someone bought for our research phase at work, it is a pretty good insight into the whole mobile web thing, I'd recommend it for anyone that wants to take some a large/medium scale commercial/retail website and try and decihper the best way of translating that into a best practice mobile web experience.

Even just read these articles that he has posted on his page about mobile web design 101 to see if your interested, these articles actually form a part of one of the chapters in this book.

I realise while I've been reading this that I really am falling behind in knowing some of the cutting edge stuff for web development/design. Something I use to be really interested in when I was younger, I guess I need to get my arse back into gear and get knee deep in it, particually if I want to ride out the rest of my grad program being of some use.

I had a nice night, never really been to a CBC before but I can see why people go, still don't like the whole linking it to religon thing, but I guess you can't avoid it since all these songs are sort of about this guy jesus, or god, or santa, the holy trinity?

They had some pretty decent fireworks at the end of it too. We then proceeded to head to astros brothers local and get smashed, off about 3 beers, what light weights.

I was looking at it today during my afternoon break that I often take at 3:30 when I can, need to give my damn eyes a rest, anyway I was standing here thinking "1777 to 1837, that isn't very long" Then I realise it is 60 years and that is a fair slog, then I thought "1970 whatever to 2007 feels longer" but of course it isn't, then I though I bet when he lived through the turn of the century I bet he thought that seems like a bloody long time. Anyway I don't know where I am going with this, point is, numbers can be decieving.

Cause you wanna know what I cooked for dinner. Broccoli, Tomato and Basil Frittata. I don't know what it is these days, but i love broccoli. Imagine asking me to even try it 4 years ago and I would have run screaming from the room!

Every night, cat tells me on meebo all about how he is going to kill everyone in Melbourne, and I mean EVERYONE.

Honka de honk, here is astro's little kettle bbq she bought cause we were all keen to have a a bbq. Tried to light it for about an hour with heat bead things that said they didn't require any other fuel to start up and burn, they were so WRONG!

Today is the continuation of serps picture blog of meeting rooms.

Sometimes I look out the window in meetings, and see the Sydney tower thing and for a split second I think I am living in Seattle. Which could have been true this afternoon with the overcast weather and then extremely fierce thunderstorm.

So this morning it was basically flooding outside my house, acros the road on the right is the corner for my usual bus stop. The rain was so bad today that the bus trip took an extra 30 minutes, the driver had to drive at almost walking pace to see out the front of the window and to stop aqua planing down the road. He almost rammed up the arse of another bus when he got too excited and drove fast cause the rain halted for a brief moment.

Fuck! I forgot to upload my photo yesterday, but the important thing is that I did take one! A boring one though, more meetings, this one includes a friggin' giant oval desk!

Taken from the drinks I had after work for the grad environment project thingy I was working on. I had such nice people in my group, I am so glad I got to spend a bit of time with them talking about life at my workplace and other random things.

The image I took makes it look like the middle of the day instead of 8:30pm at night!

The bus from hell....

Ok so there were no demons or anything like that, but the bus trip home tonight took forever and was packed. The bus driver opened his doors at every stop even though the bus was full, people got on and argued with him about where the bus was going, how much he charged them and all paid in cash which seemed to be stored in a part of their pants/bag which was harder to get into than Fort Knox. Stupid.

Then the bus driver was so behind time he was doing crazy swerves to get all over the road to make up time, but ended up making decisions that cost more time.

50 minutes later I was glad to get out in the big wet rain.

So this is some giant "block party" thing some Christian group puts on across the road from our apartments regularly. I use to think these guys were pretty cultish and hard line born again christians or something but the more I see them the more I think they are just into the random acts of kindness thing. Nearly every Saturday they hand out bottles of water and some little lolly pack thing to people passing by on the road. They don't try to give you the hard sell, well, maybe they do but I haven't experienced it yet. I think it's great that a chruch group will do this stuff without getting all scientologist/mormon on you. Random acts of kindness will probably get the right people interested in your religon in the end.

Shame you can't see the fine print in this ad I saw in a store today. But basically the jist of it was that you sms that code, then you recieve a code back via WAP/GPRS or whatever, then you have to surf to a website via WAP and use the code to purchase your shoes... That isn't exactly making it easy for your customers, and who wants to puchase sneakers from a WAP site? Give customers a bit of choice people.

Another day.... Another meeting room, shame I never really get to sit in any of these rooms and just start outside them for like, an hour. I'd like to just do that one day, I love looking out of skyscraper windows at water, even if only a little wharf area!

Around Sydney lately there has been some interesting light installations projected onto buildings, this is the best shot I got before I had to run for the late bus on the way home from basketball.

Man what a day....

Sometimes even computers that run the marketing screens in Westfield get the blues...

Taken driving to the airport to pick up astro, I am so glad she is back! I really missed her like crazy!

So even though there was a change in government today, I walked around my local area a bit, and even went to the airport, you get a shot of a freestyle jam a couple of members of some bands put on after their show at around 1am this morning. Happened right near the corner of Broadway and Regent Street, actually had a nice vibe to it because everyone that stopped to watched were happy to see something like this even happening, I reckon if this happened in Melbourne within about 5 minutes you'd have some drunk people standing around heckling.

I miss astro already!

What tha, could have saw I posted this last night when I got home from work!

But yeah, another picture of me in a meeting room, joy. Check out those crazy chair outside in the hallway/next to big windows. They look like early 1980s futuristic or something.

And because I was lazy today, you get a blurry shot of a forum i attended on the 23rd floor of our big building today. It had a Christmas theme and we all had to wear those reindeer ears. Moooooooooo.

Big day today training 8:15 till 5:30 and then back to work for another 2+ hours. This picture was taken in Martin Place, near the MLC centre. Those stars twinkle with some lights on it and they are all up and down Martin Place, prrrrreeeeeeeeeeedddyy.

Feeling tired, headachey, achey all over and a bit hot. Time for some rest.

We went to go food shopping today and grab something for breakfast and BAM! Glebe Fair happened. Many people there, lots of stuf to look at, had a nice day.

Down in King St, Newtown. Not sure what the band was called but it could be "Dejahgroove" (name on the flyer they handed out), A nice sounding funk band in a location which I have walked past many times and thought a band or buskers should be filling up this location with live music on weekends.

True story: So I was walking down Pitt Street mall at the end of my lunch break thinking "What the hell am I going to take for a picture today?" When BAM! 13ft Sidney Nolan figures jump out at me from nowhere! This picture was the best one that came out on my crappy phone. Shame really cause I had some other better framed shots that have sun glare all over them.

Sitting in a meeting room today waiting to have a conference call. Making the world more environmentally and socially sustainable one corporation at a time!
